• Trent Szkutnik tied a season high with six strikeouts. He also had six punchouts at N.C. State on Feb. 28.
• Michigan now has split its two games against Appalachian State. The Wolverines fell to ASU, 4-1, on March 1 in Cary, N.C.
• Michigan has won two straight contests for the second time this season. U-M won two in a row at Florida Gulf Coast (March 4) and UCF (March 5).
• Michigan has now played six one-run games this season, winning contests against UCF (3-2 on March 5) and today against Appalachian State.
• Travis Maezes now has five multi-hit games this season after his 2-for-4 performance. Maezes is hitting .286 on the season.
• Jacob Cronenworth picked up his 10th career save. He is now in a tie for ninth on Michigan's all-time saves list with Derek Feldkamp (2003-05) and Mike Ignasiak (1985-88).
