Trent Szkutnik tied a season high with six strikeouts. He also had six punchouts at N.C. State on Feb. 28.
Michigan now has split its two games against Appalachian State. The Wolverines fell to ASU, 4-1, on March 1 in Cary, N.C.
Michigan has won two straight contests for the second time this season. U-M won two in a row at Florida Gulf Coast (March 4) and UCF (March 5).
Michigan has now played six one-run games this season, winning contests against UCF (3-2 on March 5) and today against Appalachian State.
Travis Maezes now has five multi-hit games this season after his 2-for-4 performance. Maezes is hitting .286 on the season.
Jacob Cronenworth picked up his 10th career save. He is now in a tie for ninth on Michigan's all-time saves list with Derek Feldkamp (2003-05) and Mike Ignasiak (1985-88).
