Evan Hill had a streak of 16.1 scoreless innings snapped with a two-out RBI single from Reid Roper. Hill retired the Illini in order in the first three innings.
Michigan was shut out for the fourth time this season. It also was the second 1-0 game for the year. Houston won 1-0 back on Feb. 22.
Jackson Glines earned his 11th multi-hit game of the year. That leads the Maize and Blue.
Travis Maezes extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in the first inning.
