PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- Senior Ronit Yurovsky of the University of Michigan women's tennis team won her first two singles matches before falling in quarterfinal action at the ITA All-American on Friday (Oct. 9) at Riviera Tennis Club.
Yurovsky knocked off No. 8 seed Hayley Carter in first-round action on Thursday (Oct. 8), winning the first and third sets for her first singles win of the season. Carter previously knocked off Yurovsky at the ITA/Oracle Masters earlier this fall (Sept. 18).
The Wolverine senior continued her winning ways in the second round, rallying for a three-set win (0-6, 7-5, 6-4) over No. 16 Klara Fabikova of California. Yurovsky was down a set and 4-2 in the second before winning five of the next six games to take the second en route to the match win.
Yurovsky's run then came to an end at the hands of No. 29 Ellen Perez, 6-1, 7-5.
