ANN ABOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball program has announced its Elite Winter Development Camp for Saturday, Jan. 16, of the coming 2016 year at Oosterbaan Field House on the University of Michigan campus. The four camps are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and are open for players ages six to seniors heading into their 2015 season.
The day begins with a youth camp for players age six to 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. Following the youth session will be hitting, infield defense and pitcher/catcher camps designed for players age 10 to 18. Hitting instruction will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., while infield defense instruction will occur between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The pitcher/catcher camp will round out the day's action from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The camp staff will include current Michigan players as well as high school and college coaches that will conduct specifically designed sessions that focus on mental preparation, strategy and the keys becoming a better player.
Enrollment will be limited in order to maximize personal attention. Players will be grouped according to age, physical maturity, previous experience and overall ability. The primary goal is to instruct all players on proper mechanics to maximize performance.
The cost of the youth and infield defense camps is $100, while the cost for hitting and pitcher/catcher training is $150.
Camp check-in will begin one hour prior to the start of a camper's first session.
