OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of Michigan baseball team's Big Ten Tournament elimination game on Friday (May 27) at TD Ameritrade was halted in the bottom of the second inning and postponed due to inclement weather in the area. Play will resume on Saturday (May 28) at 1 p.m. CDT.
The Wolverines led off with two runs in the top of the first for an early 2-0 lead, but Ohio State answered back in the bottom of the same inning with five runs on six hits and a Michigan error.
Despite a strong rally to open up the first, the top of the second inning went quietly for Michigan offensively.
With one out and a 0-1 count in the bottom of the second inning, however, lightning suspended the game, and forecasted weather forced a postponement until Saturday.
Play will resume at 1 p.m. CDT, with the winner continuing on to face Michigan State at 5 p.m. The loser will not continue in the tournament.
