ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior outfielder Cody Bruder of the University of Michigan baseball team was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast second team, it was announced Wednesday (June 15). The award comes just two weeks after his CoSIDA Academic All-America selection.

As a senior, he earned a .485 slugging average and a .425 on-base percentage while playing every inning as Michigan's centerfielder. He was also a unanimous All-Big Ten Conference first team selection and earned CoSIDA Academic All-America second team honors.

During his first season with the Maize and Blue in 2015, Bruder was selected to the All-Louisville Regional and Big Ten All-Tournament teams, while also earning a U-M Athletic Academic Achievement Award. He graduated in May with a degree in evolutionary anthropology, focusing in zoology and the environment, owning an impressive 3.61 GPA.
Bruder represents one of seven Big Ten student-athletes named to the all-region second team, while five Big Ten players earned first team recognition.
The Wolverines wrapped up the 2016 season with a trip to the Big Ten Tournament and a 36-21 overall record.
