
Twelve Wolverines Earn ACWPC All-Academic Awards

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced its All-Academic team on Tuesday (June 21) with 12 University of Michigan student-athletes being recognized for their work in the classroom.
Senior Ali Thomason and junior Danielle Johnson received outstanding accolades for having a GPA above a 3.71. Thomason, a neuroscience major and creative writing minor, was named an Academic All-American earlier this month. Johnson, a sport management major, received the NCAA Elite 90 Award at the NCAA Championship in May.
Four student-athletes earned superior honors for a GPA above a 3.41. Senior Kelly Martin, who graduated from the Ross School of Business with a degree in business administration, was joined by junior Emily Browning (screen arts and cultures), freshman Kim Johnson and freshman Amy Ridge.
Six had a GPA of 3.20 or greater to earn excellent status. They were senior Julia Campbell (communication studies), senior Emily Sejna (communication studies), junior Allison Skaggs (sport management), sophomore Caroline Anderson (biopsychology, cognition, and neuroscience), sophomore Katherine Moore (international studies with a concentration on political economy and development) and freshman Sami Pratt.
In all, there were 504 student-athletes from around the country named to the list, including 131 outstanding, 198 superior and 175 excellent.
