
Four Wolverines Earn CWPA All-Conference Honors

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Four members of the No. 11-ranked University of Michigan water polo team received Collegiate Water Polo Association All-Conference recognition, the conference announced Tuesday (April 7). Ari Karampetsou and Emma Gustafsson earned first-team honors, while Issy Jackson and Emilia Mladjan were named to the second team. Sophia Bunnell and Maddy Scarth were selected to the honor roll.
Karampetsou led the Wolverines in points for the second straight season, totaling 92 on 59 goals and 33 assists. The sophomore posted a .590 shooting percentage, an improvement from .555 last year, earning All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season.
Gustafsson followed with 67 points, recording 49 goals and 18 assists over 21 games. She averaged 2.33 goals per contest during the regular season.
Jackson secured second-team All-Conference recognition for the second straight year, finishing her senior season with a team-high 30 steals. She added 36 points offensively, scoring 26 goals and tallying 10 assists.
Mladjan totaled 28 points on 27 goals while making a strong impact defensively. She led the team with 38 drawn exclusions and added 13 steals, earning the first All-Conference honor of her career.
Bunnell started all 25 games in goal and recorded 192 saves, nearing her 203-save total from last season. She earned a spot on the honor roll for the second consecutive year.
Scarth posted a .500 shooting percentage, converting 21 of 42 attempts, and finished with 35 points (21 goals, 14 assists), a significant increase from her 12 points last season. The junior also served as one of Michigan's primary sprinters, compiling a 17-6 record after going 3-4 a year ago.
Michigan will host postseason play with the CWPA Championship beginning Friday (April 10) at Canham Natatorium, opening against Mercyhurst at 6 p.m. Action continues through Saturday (April 11) and Sunday (April 12), with all games streamed on CWPATV.
