
Wolverines to Head to NC State For ACC/Big Ten Challenge

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team will face North Carolina State on the road on Nov. 29 as part of the 2018 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, the Big Ten Conference announced Monday (June 11). Tip times and television designations for the Challenge will be announced at a later date.
Michigan is 8-3 all-time in Challenge games, with this year's game marking the second meeting between the Wolverines and Wolfpack in the event. The Wolverines have picked up wins over Miami, NC State, Wake Forest (twice), Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech since the Challenge began in 2007.
It will be the third overall meeting between U-M and NC State, with the series tied 1-1.
The rest of Michigan's 2018-19 schedule will be announced at a later date.
Michigan returns three starters from last year's team in Hallie Thome (17.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg), Nicole Munger (9.1 ppg) and Hailey Brown (9.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg). The Maize and Blue also brings in six new faces in a five-member freshman class ranked No. 12 by ESPN and graduate transfer Taylor Rooks.
