The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) will return to the pool for a pair of duals this week, beginning on Thursday (Jan. 17) at No. 14 Indiana (2-2-1, 0-0 Big Ten) and continuing on Saturday (Jan. 19) vs. No. 22 Ohio State (5-3, 1-0 Big Ten) at Canham Natatorium. Admission is free.
Prior to the meet on Saturday with Ohio State, the program will honor its seven-person senior class: Yirong Bi, Catie DeLoof, Katie Duggan, Taylor Garcia, Siobhán Haughey, Becca Postoll and Jamie Yeung. The recognition will begin at 1:45 p.m. The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a Michigan swimming and diving T-shirt.

• Freshman Maggie MacNeil was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week last Wednesday (Jan. 9) for the fourth time this season following her record-setting performance at the Orange Bowl Classic during the team's training trip. Others to receive Big Ten weekly awards this season include sophomore Nikki Canale (Diver - Dec. 5), senior Siobhán Haughey (Swimmer - Nov. 7), senior Catie DeLoof (Swimmer - Oct. 3), sophomore Christy Cutshaw (Diver - Oct. 3) and freshman Victoria Kwan (Freshman - Oct. 3). • At this point in the season, three swimmers hold the Big Ten's best time in their respective events: Maggie MacNeil in the 50-yard freestyle (21.93) and 100-yard butterfly (49.97), Siobhán Haughey in the 100-yard freestyle (46.72) and 200-yard freestyle (1:41.77), and Vanessa Krause in the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.14).
• After the midseason meets, eight swimmers have surpassed last year's invited times for the NCAA Championships: Maggie MacNeil in the 50-yard freestyle (21.93), 100-yard freestyle (48.25), 100-yard backstroke (51.31) and 100-yard butterfly (49.97); Siobhán Haughey in the 50-yard freestyle (22.07), 100-yard freestyle (46.72), 200-yard freestyle (1:41.77) and 200-yard IM (1:55.04); Catie DeLoof in the 50-yard freestyle (22.09), 100-yard freestyle (47.76), 200-yard freestyle (1:43.84); Yirong Bi in the 500-yard freestyle (4:37.24), Sierra Schmidt in the 500-yard freestyle (4:38.91) and 1,650-yard freestyle (16:06.18); Miranda Tucker in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.09) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:08.53); Jamie Yeung in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.77); and Vanessa Krause in the 200-yard butterfly (1:55.14). • Three divers have qualified for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, held March 14-16 in West Lafayette, Indiana. Sophomores Nikki Canale and Christy Cutshaw -- both NCAA Championships qualifiers last season -- have scores in all three events, while freshman Allie Klein has scores on both springboard events. For this year's NCAA Championships, Zone C is allotted nine spots on one-meter, eight spots on three-meter and 12 spots on platform. [ Diving Scores ]
The Opposition
Indiana
The Hoosiers are 2-2-1 on the season, holding wins over Missouri and Kentucky, and losses to Florida and Texas. They also tied Notre Dame. In the pool, they are led by Olympic gold medalist Lilly King (No. 1 in the Big Ten in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes), Denver transfer Baily Andison (No. 1 in the 400-yard IM) and Olympic diver Jessica Parratto. Indiana finished eighth at last year's NCAA Championships.
Michigan is 23-12 in the all-time series against Indiana. The Wolverines won last year's meeting, 180-120, in Ann Arbor.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes are 5-3 on the season, holding wins over Alabama, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Denison and Akron, while falling to Texas A&M, Florida and Kentucky. In the pool, they are led by Kathrin Demler (No. 2 in the Big Ten in the 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard IM) and distance swimmer Molly Kowal (No. 5 in the 1,650-yard freestyle). Ohio State was 13th at last year's NCAA Championships.
Michigan holds a 25-4 record in the all-time series against Ohio State. The Wolverines won last year's meeting, 176-124, in Columbus.
