The University of Michigan rowing team will wrap up its fall slate on Sunday (Oct. 20) at the famed Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Massachusets. The regatta will be streamed live at the event website, HOCR.org.
With two boats in action, the Wolverines will compete in Event 62, the women's championship eights. U-M also will have an alumni boat in action on Saturday with assistant coach Liz Tuppen racing in an eight boat as well. The Michigan 1V8 will be a starboard-stroked bucket rig.
U-M is looking for its varsity to close the fall season strong one weekend after a solid set of races against Ohio State. The Wolverines and Buckeyes raced pairs and fours on Belleville Lake. A Michigan boat won each race in the first piece and OSU took first place in both races in the second piece, with solid times coming in for both teams. By all accounts, it served as a valuable measuring stick as the fall season winds down. Now U-M will seek to punctuate the fall season with a successful finish in Boston.
