
Michigan Prepped to Host Bowling Green in NCAA Tournament First Round

The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan women's soccer team will make its 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament on Friday (Nov. 15) when it takes on Mid-American Conference champion Bowling Green at 7 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.
Michigan Earns First NCAA Appearance Since 2016
• The Wolverines will make their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2016.
• Michigan will host Bowling Green in the first round of the NCAA Tournament as it plays host for the seventh time in its tournament history.
• U-M is 14-10-3 in the NCAA Tournament and 10-0-1 in Ann Arbor.
• The Wolverines received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after posting three wins over nationally-ranked opponents and making its first trip to the Big Ten Tournament final since 2005.
• The Maize and Blue is joined by four other Big Ten schools in the field of 64: Big Ten champion Wisconsin, Big Ten Tournament winner Penn State, Rutgers and Iowa.
Wolverine History in the NCAA Tournament
• Michigan is 14-10-3 in the NCAA Tournament and has advanced as far as the quarterfinals on two occasions (2002, 2013).
• The Wolverines are 8-3-2 in first-round games and 6-0-1 when hosting a first-round game in Ann Arbor.
• U-M advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament every season from 1998-2003, and appeared in at least the second round from 2012-13.
Series History with Bowling Green
• Michigan and Bowling Green have played just two times with the Wolverines earning 2-0 victories in 2014 and 2019.
• Most recently, Michigan defeated Bowling Green, 2-0, at U-M Soccer Stadium on Sept. 8.
• Raleigh Loughman and Skylar Anderson scored goals in the game; Anderson's was the first of her career.
• The Wolverines did not allow the Falcons to take a single shot in the contest while Michigan took 16 shots with eight on frame.

• Bowling Green will make its fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and its second consecutive appearance.
• BGSU is 14-5-3 this season and won the Mid-American Conference Tournament to earn an automatic big into the NCAA Tournament.
• The Falcons are 0-3-0 in NCAA Tournament play.
• Bowling Green has scored 45 goals this season and allowed just 24 to opponents.
• The offense is led by Chelsee Washington and Nikki Cox, who both have 23 points on the season.
• Kennedy White has scored a team-best 10 goals and has added two assists for 22 points.
• In goal, Kathleen Duwve has started 20 matches and made 46 saves.
Stratigakis, Shepherd Earn Big Ten All-Tournament Team Honors
• Big Ten Midfielder of the Year Sarah Stratigakis and sophomore Sydney Shepherd were named to the Big Ten All-Tournament team.
• Stratigakis had two assists in Michigan's Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals match against Maryland. She played all 97 minutes against Rutgers in the semifinals and 84 more against Penn State in the final.
• Shepherd scored the first goal of her career and added an assist on the game-winner in Michigan's match against Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals, while helping anchor the backline.

• Tickets are $8 for reserved seating, $6 for general admission and $3 for students (with a valid student ID) and youths 18 and under.
