ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 24-ranked University of Michigan volleyball team (4-2) returns home to host a pair of matches this weekend at Crisler Center. U-M will host Navy on Friday (Sept. 13) at 7 p.m. and Eastern Michigan on Sunday (Sept. 15) at 1 p.m.
• Michigan (4-2), Eastern Michigan (3-3) and Navy (2-3) are playing a round robin tournament that will take place at Crisler Center and EMU's Convocation Center. Michigan and Navy will kick things off on Friday (Sept. 13) at Crisler, with EMU hosting the Mids on Saturday (Sept. 14). The weekend will conclude with the Washtenaw County schools squaring off on Sunday (Sept. 15) in Ann Arbor.
• Michigan is 33-15 all-time against EMU, winning the last 12 matchups with the Eagles. U-M and Navy are meeting for the second time in program history and the second time in the last two seasons. Michigan recorded a 3-0 win over the Mids in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
• This weekend marks the beginning of Michigan's "Crisler Series", as the Wolverines will play at Crisler Center seven times this season. Michigan will honor a different member of its senior class at each Crisler match this season, with Katerina Rocafort and Kyleigh Hamacher being recognized this weekend.
• The Wolverines stayed in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll this week, coming in at No. 24 after a 1-2 weekend at the Dayton Invitational. The Big Ten continues to have seven schools listed in the poll.
• Freshman May Pertofsky has made her presence known through the first two weekends of her collegiate career. She has started all six matches and leads Michigan with 72.5 points. The freshman from Los Angeles is averaging 2.55 kills per set on a .413 attack percentage to go with 0.77 blocks per set and seven service aces. She is leading Big Ten freshmen in attack percentage and has been named to the all-tournament team at both of Michigan's tournaments this season.
• Junior Natalie Smith recorded a career-high 22 digs in Michigan's match against Dayton (Sept. 7), the first 20-dig performance of her career. It was the first time a Wolverine recorded at least 20 digs in a match since Jenna Lerg went for 25 against Maryland on Nov. 7, 2018.
• Senior MacKenzi Welsh recorded the 18th match of her career with at least 50 assists when she handed out 51 at Dayton (Sept. 7). Her 219 assists on the season put her sixth all-time at Michigan with 4,131 and is one of six Wolverines with at least 4,000.
