
Michigan on the Road at Penn State to Start Final Week of Regular Season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team (18-9, 9-7 B1G) will wrap up a two-game road swing Thursday (Feb. 27), heading to Penn State to face the Lady Lions (7-20, 1-15 B1G) at 7 p.m. at Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania.
• Michigan is tied with Rutgers for sixth in the Big Ten Conference with a 9-7 record. U-M is No. 30 in the latest RPI from the NCAA, totaling four top-50 wins so far this season. Michigan's strength of schedule is No. 16, and the Big Ten is the No. 2-rated conference nationally. With two games remaining in the regular season, U-M could finish anywhere between fourth and eighth place.
• Michigan is looking for the season sweep of Penn State after taking an 82-48 win over the Lady Lions on the final day of 2019 (Dec. 31). Michigan last swept Penn State during the 2015-16 season, getting a 91-87 win on the road and a 78-73 win at Crisler Center. U-M's only other regular-season sweep of the Lady Lions came during the 2000-01 season.
• Sophomore Naz Hillmon has turned in double-doubles in eight of Michigan's conference games, most recently recording 26 points and 13 rebounds at Michigan State (Feb. 23). She most notably double-dipped at Ohio State (Jan. 9) with 24 points and 15 boards. She was 8-for-8 from the floor in that contest, becoming the fifth Wolverine in program history to be perfect from the floor with at least eight attempts. On the season, Hillmon has 10 double-doubles to rank third in the Big Ten.
• Sophomore Amy Dilk has dished out the assists lately, highlighted by back-to-back games with eight helpers against Purdue (Feb. 6) and Minnesota (Feb. 10). On the season, Dilk is averaging 4.4 assists per game to rank fifth in the Big Ten. The sophomore is up to 257 dimes for her career, already ranking 17th in Michigan history.
• Penn State (7-20, 1-15 B1G) is averaging 66.2 points per game on 39.1 percent shooting while allowing 74.9 points per game on 43.3 percent shooting. The Lady Lions have a pair of double-figure scorers in Kamaria McDaniel (19.6 ppg) and Siyeh Frazier (12.4 ppg). Michigan has won four straight against Penn State.
• With the game tied at 7-7 in the early going, Michigan used a 16-2 run for a 23-9 lead at the 1:23 mark of the first quarter and never looked back in an 82-48 win over Penn State on Dec. 31. Sophomore Amy Dilk was on triple-double watch, finishing with 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Junior Hailey Brown hit three triples en route to 15 points and recorded three blocks in the contest, with senior Kayla Robbins going for 12 points and sophomore Naz Hillmon chipping in 11. Michigan held a 36-31 advantage on the glass and hit eight triples in the game on 42.1 percent shooting from long range.
