Michigan Places 14 Student-Athletes on ACWPC, CWPA Academic Teams

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic team and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Scholar-Athlete awards were announced recently, with 14 University of Michigan water polo student-athletes receiving honors.
Three student-athletes were placed in the outstanding category for the two awards with a grade-point averages between 3.71-4.0, including juniors Maddie O'Reilly and Kathy Rogers, along with sophomore Sidney Vranesh.
The superior category (3.41-3.70 GPA) featured seven Wolverines, including seniors Skyler Pyle and Heidi Ritner, sophomore Sophie Jackson, and freshmen Alex Brown, Ella Abbott, Grace Harbaugh and Jess Henningsen.
Rounding out the list with GPAs of 3.20-3.40 in the excellent category were juniors Sofie Pontré and Emily Ritner, and sophomores Ava Morrant and Isabelle Rocco.
The 14 selections are the most for the Wolverines since the awards were first handed out in 2002.
