The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team (0-3, 0-3 Big Ten) will wrap up a two-game Big Ten road swing, traveling to Columbus to take on No. 15-ranked Ohio State (1-2, 1-2 Big Ten) on Sunday (March 14) at 4 p.m. from Ohio Stadium. The contest will be broadcast live on ESPNU with Chris Cotter and Paul Carcaterra on the call.
Wolverine Bites
• Freshmen Michael Boehm leads U-M in points with nine (five goals, four assists) on only seven shots for a .714 shooting percentage. Sophomore Josh Zawada equals Boehm in goals with five and boasts three helpers for nine points, while grad student midfielder Avery Myers also boasts four assists.
• Junior faceoff specialist Nick Rowlett was named Big Ten Specialist of the Week for his performance against Rutgers, setting U-M records for faceoff wins in a game (25) and ground ball pickups (16). He leads the conference, winning 58 percent of draws (51-of-87), and ranks third nationally and first in the conference in ground balls per game (10.33).
• Sophomore midfielder Jacob Jackson is in a three-way tie for the team lead in markers and has come onto the scene as a major contributor on U-M's first-line midfield. He marked his first hat trick in maize and blue versus the Scarlet Knights and has at least one goal in each contest this season.
• U-M went 4-for-6 on extra-man offense against Rutgers, equaling the program record for EMO goals in a contest. The unit ranks No. 9 nationally and second in the conference, scoring on 50 percent (5-for-10) of opportunities through three games. Junior Bryce Clay ranks third in the conference and 14th nationally with a pair of EMO scores on the season.
• The Big Ten announced the second half of the conference schedule on Wednesday (March 10). It will begin on March 27 with Michigan hosting Ohio State at U-M Lacrosse Stadium at 1 p.m., followed by an April 4 contest at Johns Hopkins. The Wolverines will then host Maryland on April 10 before traveling to State College, Pa., for a matchup against Penn State on April 16. The regular season will conclude April 25 when Michigan hosts Rutgers.
• Michigan boasts a trio of players from the state of Ohio in Boehm (Rocky River), freshman Grant McCurry (Solon) and sophomore Gunnar Geiger (New Albany).

All-time series against the Buckeyes: U-M trails, 7-1
The Buckeyes, ranked No. 15 in the latest Inside Lacrosse Media Poll (March 8), carry a 1-2 mark heading into the matchup with the Wolverines. OSU started the campaign with a 14-8 win over Johns Hopkins on Feb. 20 before dropping contests versus Rutgers (22-12, Feb. 27) and Penn State (15-13, March 6).
The squad is led offensively by Griffin Hughes (10 goals, two assists.), Jack Myers (8G, 3A) and Tre Leclaire (10G). Defensively, Jeff Henrick leads the team in ground balls with 13 and caused turnovers with seven. They also boast one of the top defensive midfielders in the country in Ryan Terefenko (seven ground balls, two points).
Justin Inacio is the main option at the dot (35-for-65, 54 percent, 12 ground balls), while Skylar Wahlund has played the majority in goal with 25 saves, a save percentage of 37 and a goals-against average of 14.85. The Buckeyes defense ranks 52nd in the country, allowing 15 goals per game.
The two teams last met on April 26, 2019, with U-M emerging victorious, 13-10.
