ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team hits the road, traveling west to Iowa for a Thursday (March 4) contest against the Hawkeyes at noon CST before concluding the weekend with a noon CST matchup at Nebraska on Sunday (March 7). Both games will be streamed live on Big Ten Network Plus.
Wolverine Bites
• Senior Nicki Hernandez scored both goals for the Wolverines against Minnesota on Thursday (Feb. 25). The senior scored the goals in a three-minute span, firing the first from outside of the 18-yard box into the bottom-right corner before blasting one in from inside the box just minutes later.
• Michigan freshmen have contributed early with Sarah Bridenstine and Sammi Woods have seen action in all three games for the Wolverines, with Woods scoring a goal and Bridenstine adding an assist.
• Despite not coming away with a win against Wisconsin, the Wolverines outshot the Badgers, 11-5, in Monday's (March 1) contest, putting five shots on frame.
• Senior Sarah Stratigakis and sophomore Jayde Riviere returned from the SheBelieves Cup where they played for the Canadian national team, and both saw time on the field for the Wolverines against Wisconsin.

Iowa
Michigan leads, 17-4-3, in the all-time series with Iowa
Michigan leads the all-time series, 17-4-3, but Iowa won the last meeting in 2018. U-M has won four of the last seven meetings, tying in the other, and the Wolverines are 10-3-0 on the road against the Hawkeyes. Iowa has struggled in its first three games this season as it has yet to score a goal and averages just nine shots per game. However, the defense has kept opponents away from the keeper, having allowed just 14 shots on goal in two games. Goalkeeper Monica Wilhelm has played 270 minutes in net and made six saves.
Nebraska
Michigan leads, 8-1-3, in the all-time series with Nebraska
Michigan won, 4-1, against the Cornhuskers in last matchup between the teams (2019). The Wolverines have won three of the last five meetings and tied in the other two. U-M is 3-0-1 on the road against the Cornhuskers. Nebraska has yet to find a goal this season and has given up two in its first two games. Nebraska is averaging 10.5 shots per game and is putting 47.6 percent on goal.
