NCAA Championships Qualifying Procedures
The top five female and top four male divers from each event at their respective zone diving meet will be eligible to compete at the NCAA Championships. Additional place finishers in each event at each zone will be eligible based on the number of student-athletes from that zone who finished in the top 16 in that event at the previous year's NCAA Championships. All eligible divers must have achieved the zone qualifying score prior to the NCAA Championships in all events they wish to participate.
This year, Zone C is allotted the following spots per event:
1M | 3M | PL | |
MEN | 7 | 7 | 10 |
WOMEN | 7 | 6 | 10 |
Any diver that qualifies for the NCAA Championships will be allowed to optionally enter any other event(s) at the championships, provided that the diver finished in the top 12 at the same zone meet and has achieved the zone qualifying score for that event prior to the NCAA Championships.

Quick Hits
• The NCAA Zone C Diving Championships are in Lexington, Ky., for the second consecutive year. The meet was canceled midway through preliminaries last year on the first day due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
• Three Wolverines have previously made the NCAA Championships from Zones: Ross Todd (2018, 2019), Nikki Canale (2018) and Christy Cutshaw (2018, 2019).
• Michigan diving has seen a resurgence under the tutelage of diving coach Mike Hilde. On the women's side, at least two divers have qualified in four consecutive years. On the men's side, Hilde coached Ross Todd to a Big Ten individual title (one-meter) and Big Ten Diver of the Year honors in 2020.
• At the Big Ten Diving meet last week in West Lafayette, Ind., the women scored 187 points -- close to last year's total (195) -- while the men scored 95. Todd (one-meter, platform), Canale (one-meter) and Hogan (one-meter) all made event finals.
