
Wolverines to Take on Wisconsin, Minnesota in Madison

The No. 3-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team heads to Madison to battle Big Ten Conference foes host No. 14 Wisconsin and No. 20 Minnesota on Saturday (Jan. 15) at the Soderholm Family Aquatic Center. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. CST and will be streamed live on B1G+.
This weekend marks the first meet of the new year for the Wolverines after their first scheduled competition against Indiana on Jan. 8 was canceled.

Team Notes
• In addition to Wisconsin, Michigan will face No. 20 Minnesota in Madison this week. Michigan leads the series against Wisconsin 16-3 and trails Minnesota 8-4.
• Michigan moved up from its place at No. 4 to No. 3 in the latest CSCAA Top 25 poll, released on Dec. 17. The next edition of the rankings will be put out later in January. [ Rankings ]
• The Wolverines are undefeated in duals on the season, taking down Oakland (174-117), No. 14 Missouri (215-85), Purdue (232-68) and Grand Valley State (162-76).
• U-M stars past and present shined at the FINA Short Course World Championships in December, as alumna Siobhán Haughey (2016-19) and current Wolverine Maggie MacNeil came away with multiple medals.
• Haughey won gold medals in both the 100-meter (50.98) and 200-meter freestyles (1:50.31) as well as a bronze in the 400-meter freestyle (3:58.12). Swimming for Hong Kong, Haughey's 200-freestyle time set a new world record.
• Meanwhile, Maggie MacNeil won four gold medals for Team Canada while in Abu Dahabi. The senior won individual gold with a world record in the 50-meter backstroke (25.27) and also took home the title in the 100-meter butterfly (55.04). The Ontario native also won gold as part of the women's 4x100 freestyle relay (52.07 / 3:28.52) and mixed 4x50 freestyle relay (23.11 / 1:44.16). In addition, MacNeil was part of the women's 4x100 medley relay that brought home silver (55.30 / 3:47.46).
