EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team wrapped up play at the three-day Spartan Invite on Sunday (Oct. 2) in the second fall action of the season. For the tournament, Michigan went 9-3 in singles and 5-1 in doubles with four Wolverines in action.
Andrea Cerdan highlighted the Wolverines at the event, going 3-0 in both doubles and singles action. She paired with Nicole Hammond for three wins on the doubles court and recorded three straight-set victories in singles.
Hammond won her first two singles matches on the weekend before falling on the final day of action.
Freshman Bayley Sheinin made her Michigan debut, going 2-1 in both singles and in doubles with Merri Kelly, who also finished with a 2-1 singles record, winning her final two matches after dropping her opener.
Michigan is back in action tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 3) at the ITA All-American. Representing the Maize and Blue at the event are Kari Miller (main draw singles, qualifying doubles), Jaedan Brown (qualifying singles and doubles) and Julia Fliegner (main draw singles).
