
Wolverines to Travel to No. 6 Ohio State for Top-10 Showdown

The defending Big Ten Champion and No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team (8-0, 1-0 Big Ten) returns to team competition following a bye week, traveling to Columbus to take on No. 6 Ohio State (1-2, 0-1 Big Ten) on Saturday (Feb. 12) at OSU's Covelli Center. The contest begins at 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on B1G+.
Wolverine Bites
• U-M ranks as the No. 4 team in the country in the Road To Nationals rankings (397.883). The Wolverines are No. 2 on still rings (68.800) and high bar (65.517), and No. 4 on floor exercise (66.100).
• Junior Paul Juda tops the country on still rings (14.300) and sophomore Evgeny Siminiuc on high bar (14.150). Juda also ranks second on high bar (14.025) and fourth on parallel bars (14.200). Seniors Nicholas Guy checks in at No. 4 on vault (14.567), and Jacob Moore (14.150) ranks second on floor.
• The Wolverines have stuck 15 landings, have counted 21 scores above the 14-point plateau, and have hit 76 routines on the season.
• Of the 10 Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors, U-M has captured five, with sophomore Evgeny Siminiuc earning Gymnast of the Week honors on Jan. 31 for his pair of event titles versus Nebraska -- parallel bars (14.30) and high bar (14.40).
• Ohio State ranks No. 6 in the Road To Nationals rankings (393.783) and is ranked in the top five on pommel horse (64.983, third), vault (70.283, fifth), and floor exercise (65.717, fifth). Trevor Cummings enters the meet as the top pommel horse specialist in the land (14.075), while Kameron Nelson ranks fifth on floor exercise (13.950).
• Michigan leads 26-10 in the all-time series with Ohio State. U-M last defeated the Buckeyes in a dual meet on March 17, 2021, which was held virtually. U-M emerged victorious with a 408.350-397.950 score.
• Following the matchup against the Buckeyes, seniors Cameron Bock, Paul Juda, David Willett, and junior Crew Bold will represent U-M at the USA Gymnastics-sanctioned Winter Cup Challenge in Frisco, Texas, from Friday through Sunday, Feb. 25-27.
