ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 1-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team travels to Norman, Okla., for its highly anticipated showdown with No. 2 Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center. The meet is set to be featured on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. CST with Bart Conner, Kathy Johnson Clark and Sam Peszek on the call.
Wolverine Bites
• For the eighth straight week, Michigan is the No. 1 team in the nation and currently ranks No. 1 on the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise while coming in at No. 9 on the balance beam.
• Assistant coach Maile'ana Kanewa-Hermelyn returns to her alma mater for the second time in her career as Michigan made the trip in 2020. Kanewa-Hermelyn competed at OU from 2012-16 and was a member of two national championship teams as a gymnast, and was also a student assistant for a third championship in her time with the Sooners.
• The Wolverines have broken three team records this season as they earned the sixth-highest score in NCAA history with a 198.525 at Rutgers, while also notching the second-highest score in NCAA history on the vault with a 49.875, and finally tying the U-M floor record with a 49.700 against Arizona State.
• Junior Sierra Brooks recorded Michigan's fourth perfect 10.0 on the vault this season and the first of her career at Nebraska. The junior took home three total event titles with the vault, floor and all-around. For her efforts, Brooks was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the third time in her career.
• Michigan earned its seventh Big Ten regular-season championship as it won its session of the Big Five Meet. The Wolverines have won seven of the 10 championships since it started in 2013.

Oklahoma
Michigan trails the all-time series 8-16
Michigan earned its first win over Oklahoma since 2006 at the 2021 NCAA Finals. Since 2006, Oklahoma and U-M have met nine times in the regular season and six times in the postseason.
The Sooners are the No. 2 overall team in week eight of the season with a NQS of 197.860 and a season high of 198.200. As a team, Oklahoma ranks in the top five in all four events coming into the meet as the No. 1 team on the beam, ranking second on the uneven bars, fourth on the floor and fifth on the vault.
Individually, Audrey Davis is the top all-arounder for Oklahoma with a 39.480 NQS, while she ranks first on the uneven bars with a 9.940 NQS. The Sooners also have two gymnasts ranked in the top five on beam in No. 1 Ragan Smith and No. 5 Carly Woodard.
