ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team completed a three-game series sweep of visiting Dayton on Sunday (March 20), as two Wolverine pitchers allowed just two hits in a 4-2 victory against the Flyers at the Wilpon Complex's Ray Fisher Stadium.

Jimmy Obertop gave Michigan a first-inning lead after lacing a two-out RBI single to left field. Dayton claimed a 2-1 lead in the fourth, also thanks to a two-out knock, as Andrew Casey sent a fastball to the wall in left-center against Jacob Denner (2-2).

Michigan answered in the bottom of the fourth as Ted Burton singled to shortstop to lead off before Tito Flores unloaded his team-leading fifth homer of the season, taking a 1-2 fastball high over the left-field wall for a 3-2 lead. Three batters later, Clark Elliott inside-outed a 2-2 fastball and sliced an RBI single into left-center for a 4-2 lead and the eventual winning margin.

From the fifth inning on, Dayton managed just two baserunners as Denner and Chase Allen were superb on the mound. Denner went 5.0 innings, scattering two hits and two walks while striking out three batters and throwing 63 strikes in his 88 pitches. Allen came on and earned a four-inning save, throwing 4.0 innings of hitless relief with one walk and six strikeouts for his second save of the season.

Joe Stewart was the lone player with multiple hits on the day, lacing a pair of singles while also stealing a base.

Michigan is scheduled for a 3 p.m. road game Wednesday (March 23) at Xavier before continuing to Nebraska for the start of Big Ten Conference play March 25-27. Games on the 25th and 27th will be aired live on Big Ten Network.
