ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (9-4, 1-2 B1G) will take on Ohio State University (8-4, 1-1 B1G) Friday evening (April 8) at 7:30 p.m. at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The game is set to be featured on the Big Ten Network with Dean Linke and Caley Chelios on the call.
Wolverine Bites
• Michigan moves to No. 14 in the IL/IWLCA rankings and holds a 9-4 record, including 1-2 in Big Ten Conference play, heading into the Friday contest against Ohio State.
• The Wolverines are outscoring opponents 167-112 and are averaging 28.6 shots a game compared to opponents' 25.1 shots per game.
• Graduate senior goalie Arielle Weissman recorded her 200th career save this past weekend and currently ranks fourth nationally with a 8.16 goals-against average. She also ranks 12th with a .503 save percentage. Furthermore, Weissman leads the Big Ten in goals-against average and ranks second in save percentage.
• Senior Kaley Thompson has recorded at least two goals in 10 of Michigan's 13 games this season, including a hat trick on five occasions. Currently, Thompson is on a nine-game scoring streak with at least two points in each game and has recorded hat tricks in U-M's last two contests.
Senior Kaitlyn Mead won nine draw controls against No. 17 USC, which ranks second in Michigan women's lacrosse single-game history and is the most since Maggie Kane had 10 draw control wins in 2018. This season, Mead leads the U-M draw with 49 wins and ranks sixth in the Big Ten with 3.77 draw controls per game.

Michigan trails the all-time series 3-6
U-M trails the all-time series 3-6 and will be looking for its first win against the Buckeyes since the 2019 season as the two teams did not meet in 2020.
Ohio State is 8-4 overall this season and 1-1 in Big Ten Conference action. The Buckeyes head into the Friday night contest with back-to-back wins including a 12-11 victory over Penn State and an overtime victory against Louisville. Ohio State is outscoring opponents 161-132 but have struggled on free position opportunities, scoring just 33 times on 88 attempts.
Jamie Level has a team-best 23 points with 16 goals and seven assists, while Chloe Johnson ranks second with 15 goals and four assists. Johnson has also won a team-high 99 draw controls, which ranks second in the Big Ten and seventh in the nation. In the cage, Regan Alexander has started 11 games and has a 10.79 goals-against average with 96 saves.
