
Michigan to Travel to No. 9 Ohio State for Big Ten Opener

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team heads to No. 9 Ohio State for its Big Ten Conference opener Sunday (Jan. 21) at 2 p.m. at the Covelli Center.
Notes
• The Wolverines bounced back after week one to earn a score of 197.725 against Stanford on Friday (Jan. 12) at Crisler Center. The score brought Michigan up to No. 14 nationally, while it is ranked inside the top-15 on vault (13th), uneven bars (11th) and floor exercise (ninth). U-M is ranked 26th on balance beam.
• Individually, Sierra Brooks ranks ninth on the floor and 10th in the all-around, while Carly Bauman ranks 15th on the uneven bars.
• Brooks broke the Michigan all-around record of 39.825 held by Natalie Wojcik, Elise Ray, Sarah Cain and Beth Wymer, scoring a 39.850 with her second perfect 10 on floor, a 9.975 on vault and beam and a 9.900 on uneven bars. For her efforts, she was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for the sixth time in her career.
• U-M scored a 49.700 on the floor against Stanford to rank second in program history as it saw career highs from Bauman, Jenna Mulligan and Reyna Guggino -- who all posted matching 9.925s.
• Freshman Ava Jordan made her collegiate debut for the Maize and Blue, posting a 9.850 in the leadoff spot on vault.
• The Wolverines wrapped up a five-part series, Michigan Made, which was an all-access look at the months leading up to the Wolverines' 2024 campaign. Weaving interviews with coaches and student-athletes with behind-the-scenes practice footage and a look at life outside the gym the five-episode series gives an unparalleled look into the historic program and those committed to continuing the winning legacy of Michigan Women's Gymnastics.
