
U-M to Welcome Notre Dame, Wisconsin for Weekend Tri-Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 12-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team will start the dual-meet portion of its season with matchups against Notre Dame and Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday (Oct. 18-19) at 4 p.m. and 10 a.m., respectively, inside Canham Natatorium.
Notes
• The matchup against the Fighting Irish and Badgers will mark the first two-day dual meet at home under head coach Matt Bowe. The Wolverines fell in their lone home dual meet in 2023-24 to Big Ten champion Indiana.
• U-M started the 2024-25 season at the Be Better; Invitational, honoring former Wolverine Ian Miskelley, and registered seven traditional event wins in the unscored meet.
• Big Ten Swimmer to Watch Stephanie Balduccini will compete in Canham for the first time this season after winning the 100-yard individual medley and 25-yard freestyle at the Be Better; Invitational. Â
• After a year removed from college swimming, Letitia Sim returned with a flourish by winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.16 seconds.
• Among the newcomers, Olympian Rebecca Diaconescu was the highlight as she won the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 1:49.28. Â
• Graduate student Casey Chung got her final year off to a solid start with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a mark of 54.46 at the Be Better; Invitational.
• Big Ten Diver to Watch Kiarra Milligan and the Michigan diving team will make their season debut in Canham. Milligan returns to Michigan after earning All-America honors in the three-meter dive last season.
• Michigan will meet Wisconsin for the 23rd time in program history and leads the series 18-4. The Wolverines will match up with the Fighting Irish for the first time since the 2014-15 season, when they triumphed 182-118.
