
Michigan to Trek to Pacific Northwest for Pair of Games

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team (2-10-1, 1-5-0 Big Ten) heads west to take on Washington (6-4-2, 3-3-0 Big Ten) and Oregon (5-8-0, 1-5-0 Big Ten) this week in Big Ten action. Michigan will play at Washington on Thursday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. PDT and at Oregon on Sunday (Oct. 13) at 1 p.m. PDT. Both games will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• The Wolverines head west this week, traveling to the Pacific Northwest for a date with two of the Big Ten's newest teams. U-M will first play at Washington on Thursday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. PDT and wrap the weekend at Oregon on Sunday (Oct. 13) at 1 p.m. PDT.
• U-M has hit the home stretch of its season, with just five games remaining. Michigan will play these two on the road, return home for a pair against Northwestern and Purdue before wrapping the regular season at Wisconsin.
• Michigan enters the week tied for 13th in the Big Ten standings. Iowa, USC and UCLA are atop the league with 16 points. The top 10 teams will qualify for the Big Ten Tournament, which begins later this month.
• U-M and Washington have faced each other four times in program history, with UW holding a 3-1 advantage in the series that will now shift to conference matchups. This is Michigan's first trip to Seattle to face the Huskies since 2015.
• The Wolverines and Ducks will meet for the first time in program history.
• The game at Oregon is also the first Michigan women's soccer contest in the Beaver State. U-M has faced Portland three times and Oregon State once but all at neutral sites.
• Michigan has 10 players who have recorded a point this season, led by Jenna Lang's eight points on four goals. Abby Zugay and Taylor Brennan each have five points, both recording a pair of goals and one assist.
• Avery Kalitta has started 55 consecutive games in the midfield for U-M. She started the final six games of her freshman season (2021) to kick off the streak, starting in every contest in 2022 and 2023. She is one of three Wolverines, joining Stephanie Sparkowski and Lang, to start all 13 games this season.
• Michigan closes out the home portion of it season next week, hosting Northwestern on Oct. 17 and Purdue on Oct. 20. The game against Northwestern is Pups at the Pitch.
