
Wolverines to Close Homestand Hosting Tarleton State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's basketball team (3-1) closes out its three-game homestand hosting Tarleton State (1-4) on Thursday (Nov. 21) at Crisler Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:35 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
Notes
• Michigan is playing the final game of a three-game homestand. Following the Tarleton State matchup, U-M has five of its next six games on the road. U-M is on the road in seven of its next 10 games heading into the start of the New Year.
• Over his last two games, Nimari Burnett has averaged 17 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He has shot 76.5 percent (13-for-17) from the floor and 63.6 percent (7-for-11) from long range. Burnett led U-M with 16 points against TCU (Nov. 15) and 18 against Miami (Ohio).
• Tre Donaldson has come out of the gates quarterbacking the Wolverine offense and controlling Dusty May's game plan. With four straight double-figure games, he is averaging a team-best 14 points per game. He is adding a team-best 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and shooting 62.1 percent from the field (18-for-29).
• Sam Walters has attempted 18 shots, with 15 from long range. He is shooting 53.3 percent (8-for-15) from deep for the season and is shooting 61.1 percent (11-for-18) overall from the field.
• Vladislav Goldin surpassed 1,200 points and reached 100 wins against Miami (Ohio). With two blocks (148), he will hit 150 and with 14 rebounds (686) he will have 700. Rubin Jones (924) needs 76 points to reach 1,000 for his career.
• L.J. Cason has recorded three double-figure games off the bench. He is shooting 50 percent from the field (12-for-24) and a perfect 8-for-8 on free throws.
• Tarleton State transferred from Division II to Division I in 2020, a little more than a year before they faced the Wolverines in 2021. The Texans have now completed the four-year reclassification process to become a full-fledged D-I program and are eligible for the NCAA Tournament and other postseason tournaments. Tarleton State is a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
• Michigan and Tarleton State have faced off only once. Three years ago, the Wolverine defeated the Texans 65-54 in Ann Arbor (Nov. 24, 2021) which was part of the Roman Main Event campus game.
