
Wolverine Women to Head South for Georgia Tech Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan women's swimming and diving team (3-0) will travel to Atlanta, Ga., to take part in the Georgia Tech Invitational, Friday through Sunday (Nov. 22-24), at the McAuley Aquatic Center. Each day, preliminaries will start at 10 a.m. and finals are set to get underway at 5 p.m.
Notes
• The Wolverines will take on No. 18 Auburn, Florida State and host Georgia Tech during the three-day Georgia Tech Invite.
• Michigan moved to 3-0 on the season after defeating Oakland 202-92 on Nov. 8 in Canham Natatorium.
• Friday will mark the second trip to Georgia in as many seasons after competing in the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., in 2023 and finishing third out of seven teams.
• Two freshmen -- Rebecca Diaconescu and Marian Ploger -- rank in the top three nationally in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Diaconescu leads the pack with a time of 16:19.43, and Ploger is third with a mark of 16:31.17. Both times meet the NCAA 'B' standard.
• Stephanie Balduccini checks in at seventh in the Big Ten in the 100-yard freestyle with a 'B' cut time of 48.61 seconds.
• Hannah Bellard dominated against Oakland, winning three individual events. She set a new personal best in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:22.76.
• Lindsay Flynn continues to shine in the short-distance freestyle events, ranking sixth in the Big Ten in the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 22.35.
• In diving, Chrismon Clark ranks 21st in the Big Ten in the one-meter dive with a score of 283.95, which qualifies her to compete in the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
