Michigan (17-12, 7-11 Big Ten) was led offensively by Valentina Vaulet, who tallied 14 kills and 10 digs. Morgan Burke recorded 27 assists in the match along with seven digs. Maddi Cuchran led the team with 13 digs, while defensive specialist Carly Greskovics recorded her first career kill.
Oregon (21-6, 13-5 Big Ten) started the match with a 4-1 lead and kept a three-point lead until three straight points from Michigan tied the set at eight. The Ducks took three of the next four points to reestablish a three-point lead, but U-M tried to mount a comeback, trailing 16-12. Starting with two Duck attack errors, Kendyl Reaugh tallied a kill to put U-M down two. Oregon won the next point, but a service error and a kill from Serena Nyambio brought Michigan within one at 17-16. Michigan could not tie the match, as Oregon took eight of the final 11 points of the set to win 25-19.
A Ducks attack error gave Michigan the first point of the second set, but Oregon took seven of the next eight points for a 7-2 lead. Kills from Simmons and Boney sandwiched a Ducks attack error to bring U-M within 7-5, but Oregon stayed in control, taking an 11-5 lead. Oregon extended its lead to eight at 18-10, but the Wolverines put up a strong fight. Michigan went on an 11-4 run to cut the Ducks' lead to one at 22-21. During the run, Jacque Boney tallied three kills and a block with Reaugh, while Burke added a kill and an ace. Oregon called a timeout, which halted Michigan's momentum, and the Ducks took the final three points to win 25-21.
Vaulet started the third set with a kill, but Oregon took a 5-3 lead. Michigan tied the match on a block from Boney and Reaugh at five, and the teams traded the next four points before a kill from Reaugh put Michigan ahead. A service ace from Burke extended the lead and forced an Oregon timeout. Michigan kept the lead until Oregon tied it at 14. Boney briefly put Michigan back in front, but the Ducks responded with three consecutive points to take a 17-15 lead. Michigan tallied back-to-back kills from Reaugh and Nyambio, followed by an Oregon attack error, to tie the match at 19. However, Oregon retook the lead, and Michigan could not recover. A kill from Vaulet staved off one set point, but the Ducks ultimately won the third set 25-22.
