
Wolverines to Host Toy Drive, Hawkeyes Saturday at Crisler Center

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Currently navigating a six-game winning streak, the University of Michigan men's basketball team (7-1, 1-0 Big Ten) will play its first game in Crisler Center in 16 days, hosting Iowa (7-1; 1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday (Dec. 7). The game is U-M's annual Holiday Game, and fans are asked to participate in the Toy Drive. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:10 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on FS1.
Notes
• Michigan has won six straight games, including back-to-back wins over nationally ranked teams -- No. 22 Xavier (78-53) and No. 11 Wisconsin (67-64). The last time Michigan won six in a row was early in the 2020-21 season.
• The last time Michigan posted back-to-back wins against ranked foes was in the 2022 NCAA Tournament -- #24 Colorado State (75-63) and #5 Tennessee (76-68) in Indianapolis to advance U-M to the Sweet 16.
• U-M closes its early two-game Big Ten December swing hosting Iowa, which defeated Northwestern 80-79 in a thriller on Tuesday (Dec. 3). Trailing by two with 0.8 seconds remaining, Josh Dix hit a deep buzzer-beater to win the game.
• Michigan faces Iowa in an early December action for a third time. The Wolverines are 2-0 against the Hawkeyes -- winning 103-91 at Crisler Center (Dec. 6, 2019) and 90-80 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena (Dec. 10, 2023).
• Danny Wolf has back-to-back 20-point games against ranked opponents -- No. 22 Xavier (20 points) and No. 11 Wisconsin (20 points). The last Wolverines with back-to-back 20-plus point games was Dug McDaniel early last season against St. John's (25; Nov. 13) and Long Beach State (20; Nov. 17).
• Vladislav Goldin scored a career-best 24 points at Wisconsin. It marks his third double-figure game over his last four contests. During this stretch, he has shot 58.9 percent (23-for-39) and produced 62 of his 88 total points.
With five rebounds at Wisconsin, Goldin surpassed 700 career rebounds, now at 703.
• Goldin (16) and Wolf (15) have combined for 31 of U-M's 44 blocks.
• Nimari Burnett leads U-M with 17 long-range baskets and is shooting 47.2 percent (17-for-36). He has made a triple in his last seven games and two-plus in six overall games.
