
Wolverines to Host Silverston Invitational, DMR to Run at Notre Dame

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will close out its regular-season indoor slate, hosting the Silverston Invitational on Friday (Feb. 16) at 4 p.m. at the U-M Indoor Track Building before sending a distance medley relay team to the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Saturday (Feb. 17) at noon.
Notes
• The Maize and Blue raced across two sites last weekend, with Aasia Laurencin the lone Wolverine at the Tiger Paw Invitational. She won her heat in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles, placing second overall and qualifying for the semifinals (8.19 seconds). The senior placed fifth in the semifinals with a time of 8.12, just 0.01 seconds shy of her season best, and advanced to the finals where she finished fifth (8.20).
• At the Windy City Invitational, Cate Visscher set a personal-best pole vault mark of 3.95 meters (12 feet, 11.50 inches) to finish third, while Kaitlin McHale finished fifth with a mark of 3.65m (11 feet, 11.75 inches). Visscher's mark tied the No. 6 mark in program history and is the No. 15 mark in the Big Ten.
• The throwers had an impressive performance in the shot put, with a podium finish and four personal bests. Corinne Jemison threw a season-best 16.22m (53 feet, 2.75 inches) for a third-place finish, while Maria Deaviz finished fourth (16.19m/53 feet, 1.5 inches). Trinity Franklin threw a personal-best mark of 15.35m (50 feet, 4.5 inches) for an eighth-place finish and Elizabeth Tapper threw a personal-best 15.18m (49 feet, 9.75 inches) in a ninth-place finish. Franklin holds the No. 8 mark in program history while Tapper entered the performance list at No. 10.
• In the 400-meter dash, Trinity Henderson set a personal best (55.83) for a fourth-place finish in the open section while Sidney Green finished fourth (54.73) in the invitation section. She was just 0.02 seconds from tying her personal best.
• Lucy Petee ran a season-best 2:10.84 in the 800-meter run, while the mile run saw three personal bests. Lani Bloom finished second with a time of 4:44.17,Tilly Simpson finished sixth (4:46.86) and Mara Longenecker finished 17th (4:52.29).
