
Three Wolverines Record Top-10 Program Marks at Clyde Hart Invitational

WACO, Texas -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team concluded competition at the Clyde Hart Invitational on Saturday (March 23).
Aasia Laurencin finished 12th in the 100-meter dash, running a career-best time of 11.80. In the 400-meter dash, Susan Bansbach ran a career-best 56.00 seconds to finish 16th.
Four Wolverines finished in the top-eight of the shot put, with Elizabeth Tapper throwing a career-best 17.06 meters (55 feet, 11.5 inches) for the win. Her mark is the best mark in the NCAA and comes in at No. 2 in program history. Maria Deaviz finished in third place with a personal-best mark of 16.86m (55-3.75), the No. 4 mark in the NCAA, while Corinne Jemison placed fourth (16.35m/53-7.75) and Trinity Franklin finished seventh with a career-best 15.61m (51-2.75). Franklin's mark is the 25th-best in the NCAA and 10th best in U-M history.
Emma Yungeberg had another impressive weekend, winning the javelin throw with a career-best mark of 49.03m (160-10). Yungeberg's mark the No. 20 mark in the NCAA and No. 2 mark in program history, just 1.49m shy of the U-M record. Clare McNamara also competed in the javelin throw, finishing eighth with a career-best 38.45m (126-1) for the No. 9 mark in program history. This is the second straight weekend that Yungeberg and McNamara have thrown for a career best in the javelin.
The Maize and Blue will remain on the road next weekend, splitting the weekend at the Stanford Invitational hosted by Stanford and the Battle on the Bayou hosted by LSU next Friday and Saturday (March 29-30).
