ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan men's lacrosse team will return to U-M Lacrosse Stadium for the first time in nearly a month, hosting the No. 19-ranked Harvard Crimson on Sunday (March 10) at noon. The contest will be broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
Notes
• U-M's four-game winning streak is the third longest in the Kevin Conry era. The Wolverines won seven straight in the 2022 season and five in 2023. Under Conry, Michigan is 30-16 in non-conference games.
• The Wolverines enter the week ranked No. 13 in the Inside Lacrosse Media poll and No. 13 in the USILA Coaches Poll.
• The Michigan attack unit of senior Michael Boehm (17, 14a), junior Ryan Cohen (15g, 13a) and graduate student Justin Tiernan (26g, 2a) form one of the best attack trios in the country with 87 points through six contests. Tiernan is second in the country in goals-per-game (4.40) and No. 10 in man-up goals with three.
• U-M is No. 16 in the country in scoring offense (13.83 goals/game), No. 12 in assists per game (8.83) and No. 4 in extra-man offense (58 percent) as well as No. 14 in points per game (22.67). The Wolverines are also No. 2 in the country in turnovers per game (11.83) and No. 6 in shooting percentage (37 percent).
• Defensively, the U-M unit ranks No. 6 nationally, allowing only nine goals per contest. Sophomore goalkeeper Hunter Taylor is No. 19 in the nation in goals-against average and is stopping 53 percent of shots faced.
• Boehm enters the week with 203 career points after recently becoming the second Wolverine ever to reach the mark (Delaware, March 2), and is 10 points shy of the U-M career scoring record of 213 (Josh Zawada). He is also four goals shy of the program record for career goals (119, Zawada) and seven assists from the assist record (94, Zawada).
• Cohen trails Ian King (2014-17) for third place in the career points list by six points. Cohen boasts 71g and 67a for 138 points in his U-M career.
• Senior faceoff man Justin Wietfeldt is coming off a week where he went 36-of-50 (72 percent) with 28 ground balls against Marquette and Jacksonville. With 14 ground balls in each contest, he ranks for second most in a single game in program history. He checks in at No. 14 in the country in winning percentage (63 percent) and is No. 8 in the NCAA in ground balls per contest at 8.80.
• In the latest Inside Lacrosse media poll, all but one of U-M's future opponents are ranked in the top 20 in addition to No. 19 Harvard. Johns Hopkins (2), Notre Dame (4), Maryland (7), Penn State (11) and Rutgers (16) are all ranked. Ohio State is the lone unranked squad and is receiving votes in the poll.
• The Crimson lead the all-time series, 2-1, but U-M is coming off a 19-13 win over Harvard a season ago in Cambridge. Boehm equaled his career best of nine points with five goals and four assists. The contest also featured a 16-4 extended run for U-M to end the game. Harvard is currently one of five undefeated teams in the country with a 5-0 record.
