BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team opened up the NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday (March 8), with Aasia Laurencin and Savannah Sutherland both advancing to Saturday's finals.
Sutherland was the first to race, finishing second in her heat and sixth in the preliminaries of the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.26 to advance to tomorrow's finals.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Laurencin finished second in her heat with a personal-best 7.99 to advance to tomorrow's finals.
U-M will close out the indoor season with the second day of the NCAA Championships on Saturday, March 9, with the 400-meter dash finals at 7:20 p.m. and the 60-meter hurdle finals at 7:40 p.m.
