
Laurencin, Sutherland Compete at NCAA Indoors, Earn All-America Honors

BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team concluded the indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Championships on Saturday (March 9) with Savannah Sutherland and Aasia Laurencin competing in final action at the TRACK at New Balance.
Sutherland was the first Wolverine to compete, running 52.33 seconds in the 400-meter dash to finish seventh. In the 60-meter hurdles, Laurencin earned a sixth-place finish with a time of 8.04.
Both Wolverines earned All-America first-team honors for their performances as well as combining for five team points to help U-M finish tied for 36th in the team standings.
The Maize and Blue will open the outdoor season next Friday and Saturday (March 15-16) when the Wolverines travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete at the USF Alumni Invitational at the USF Track and Field Complex.
