
Maize and Blue to Head to Florida for Tom Jones Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will head south for the Tom Jones Invitational hosted by Florida on Friday and Saturday (April 12-13) at James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.
Notes
• Track action on Friday (April 12) will begin at noon with the 200-meter dash and at 10 a.m. on Saturday (April 13) with the 400-meter dash. Field action on Friday is set to begin at 5 p.m. with the long jump and 9 a.m. on Saturday with the discus throw.
• Three Wolverine event squads remained in the USTFCCCA Top-10 rankings, with the shot-put squad coming in at No. 3, the 1,500-meter run squad coming in at No. 4, and the 800-meter run squad coming in at No. 5.
• U-M stayed in-state last weekend, competing at the Spartan Invitational hosted by Michigan State last Friday (April 5).
• Cate Visscher cleared a career-best 3.95m (12 feet, 11.5 inches) in the pole vault to finish fourth. In the shot put, Clare McNamara threw a career-best 13.29m (43-7.25) for a fifth-place finish.
• In the high jump, Gabriella Newman and Mia Manson both cleared a career-best 1.65m (5-5). Newman finished in third place and Manson finished in fifth.
• The Wolverines placed three in the top-five of the 5,000-meter run. Ainsley Workman (17:29.73) finished second, Gabbie Michael (17:36.88) finished fourth and Abby Bonnema (17:41.72) finished fifth.
