
Wolverines Post Three Top-10 Program Times at Tom Jones Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team concluded competition at the Tom Jones Invitational on Saturday (April 13), adding a trio of new top-10 marks to the program performance lists.
Aasia Laurencin ran a personal-best time of 12.74 seconds in the 100-meter hurdle preliminaries to advance to the finals, finishing second with another personal-best of 12.72. Laurencin's finals time is the No. 2 mark in program history, just 0.12 seconds behind the program record.
Noelani Phillips ran 54.63 in the 400-meter dash invite section to finish in 34th place.
In the 800-meter run, Penelopea Gordon finished 10th with a personal-best time of 2:04.15, while Cassie Kearney finished 18th (2:06.51) and Samantha Hastie finished 19th (2:06.59). Gordon's time is tied for the sixth-fastest in program history.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Sophie Isom, Sidney Green, Savannah Sutherland and Phillips finished 16th with a time of 3:36.71, the No. 8 time in program history.
Riley Ammenhauser earned an eighth-place finish in the triple jump invite section (12.83m/42 feet, 1.25 inches).
In the shot put, Trinity Franklin finished fifth with a mark of 15.36m (50-4.75). Elizabeth Tapper placed eighth in the discus throw open section with a mark of 46.54m (152-8) and Corinne Jemison placed fourth in the discus throw invite section with a mark of 56.54m (185-6).
U-M will split across two sites next weekend, heading to the University of Kentucky for the Jim Green Invitational on Friday and Saturday (April 19-20) and Winston-Salem, N.C., on Saturday for the Wake Forest Invitational.
