ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's tennis team played a strong singles game, winning all six matches over Indiana after the Hoosiers took the doubles point for the 6-1 win on Friday night (April 5) at the Varsity Tennis Center. The victory extends the Wolverines' streak to five straight matches and keeps them undefeated in the Big Ten.
Highlighting the match was Jacob Bickersteth recording his 50th career dual singles victory as he defeated Facuno Yunis 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Down 3-1 in the first set, Bickersteth battled to win three of the next five games to sit one game back, 4-5. He used the momentum to win the four straight games to win the set 7-5 and he carried that into the second, a 6-1 decision.
Indiana nudged Michigan in doubles, winning an 7-6 (8-6) tiebreak at No. 2 to decide the point. Gavin Young and Bickersteth, ranked No. 23 as a pair, captured a 6-2 win at No. 1, starting the match with a break point and didn't look back.
Patorn Hanchaikul earned his first win back from injury as he dominated Jagger Saylor at No. 4 singles. He had three break points in a 6-1 first set and won the last three games in the second set for a 6-3 final.

After Bickersteth clinched the match, the teams played out with Bjorn Swenson quickly making it 5-1 with match 6-4 decisions at No. 3 over Michael Andre.
No. 17 ranked Young closed out with a 10-6 third-set tiebreak win over No. 69 Sam Landau at No. 1 singles. Knotted at 6-6, Young won the last four points to take the match. Landau won 6-2 in the first set before Young answered with a 6-3 victory in the second.
