
Wolverines to Close Regular Season at Indiana's Billy Hayes Invitational

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's track and field team will close out the regular season at the Indiana's Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday (May 3) at 2:30 p.m. at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington.
Notes
• Field events are schedule to begins at 2:30 p.m. with the javelin throw, while track action is set to start at 4:16 p.m. with the 100-meter dash preliminaries.
• A pair of event squads sit in the USTFCCCA top-10 rankings, with the shot put squad ranked No. 5 and the 1,500-meter run squad ranked No. 10.
• The Wolverines split between two meets last weekend, with Savannah Sutherland and Samantha Saenz heading to the Penn Relays and the rest of the squad staying home for the Len Paddock Open.
• Sutherland ran 55.36 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles to break a 29 year old Penn Relays record. The previous standard (55.58) was set in 1995 by Lade Akinremi of Arizona State.
• At the Len Paddock Open, Elizabeth Tapper won the discus throw with a personal-best mark of 51.36m (168 feet, 6 inches). The mark is No. 8 on the program performers list.
• Cate Visscher won the pole vault, clearing a personal best 3.97m (13-0.25) for the No. 6 mark in program history.
• The Maize and Blue went 3-4-5 in the 3,000-meter run, with Gabbie Michael (10:12.06) finishing third, Leah Hill (10:14.40) finishing fourth and Lisa Luecke (10:14.78) finishing fifth.
