ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan baseball first baseman Collin Priest was named a second-team Freshman All-American by Perfect Game, the publication announced Wednesday (June 12).
Earlier this season, Priest was named a member of the All-Big Ten Freshman Team as a designated hitter. He started 39 games and appeared in 56, hitting .279 with 11 home runs and 30 RBI. Priest's 11 homers were third on the team and the most by a Michigan freshman in program history. He was also one of just two players to have an OPS over 1.000 and was third on the team in total bases with 85. Priest drew 34 walks -- good for second on the team -- to get to a .445 OBP.
Priest is the first Wolverine to earn Perfect Game freshman honors since Willie Weiss earned the nod in 2019.
