Notes
• Last weekend, Michigan won the Knoxville ITA Kick-Off after defeating Auburn and host No. 14 Tennessee by the matching 4-1 scores. It marked the third consecutive season the Wolverines have advanced to the ITA National Indoors and fifth overall. It is also the first time Michigan won the ITA Kick-Off on the road since 2010 when the Wolverines knocked off No. 1 seed Kentucky 4-2 in the first match before defeating No. 3 seed Minnesota 4-2 in the second.
• The Wolverines are 3-0 on the season and moved up to No. 17 in the ITA national poll from No. 25 after its sweep last weekend.
• NC State holds a slim 4-3 margin over Michigan in the all-time series, with the last meeting coming Feb. 10, 2023, a 4-0 Michigan win. The Pack are 4-1 on the season; their lone loss came at the hands of Michigan's Sunday opponent, Harvard.
• Michigan owns a 7-2 lead in the all-time series with Harvard, with the Crimson earning a 6-1 decision last February in Cambridge, Mass. The Wolverines defeated Harvard the last time they visited Ann Arbor, a 4-3 match in 2023. Harvard is 3-2 on the season.
• Benjamin Kittay earned his first-ever Big Ten Player of the Week honor on Wednesday (Jan. 29). He went 4-0 last weekend, winning both of his singles and doubles matches, including a ranked win at No. 1 singles on Sunday.
• Michigan has won the doubles point in its first three matches. Kittay and Patorn Hanchaikul have gone 3-0 at No. 2 doubles, while Alex Cairo and Will Cooksey are 2-0 at No. 2 doubles and boast an 8-1 overall record as a duo. Gavin Young and Bjorn Swenson are 1-0 at No. 1 with two unfinished matches but are 3-0 as a pair, including the fall season.
• Cooksey, Kittay and Nicholas Steiglehner are riding three-match singles win streaks. Cooksey has the most singles wins on the team with 11, followed by Young with 10.
• In 14 singles matches this season, Michigan is 12-2 and has a 6-0 mark in doubles.
