ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- In the annual Pink Game, the 24th-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team (16-5, 8-2 Big Ten) will host Big Ten newcomer Oregon (16-6, 5-6 Big Ten) on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at Crisler Center. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. tip on the Big Ten Network with Kevin Kugler, Stephen Bardo and Andy Katz on the call.
Notes
• Michigan concludes its schedule with the Big Ten's newest West Coast members by hosting Oregon at Crisler Center. U-M had an 85-74 win at USC in the Wolverines' first-ever visit to the Galen Center and followed with a 94-75 victory at No. 22 UCLA, which marked the second-ever win at Pauley Pavilion. Returning to Ann Arbor, U-M hosted Washington for the first time in 30 years and had a 91-75 victory.
• After winning the first four games against Oregon, Michigan has dropped its last three, including a heartbreaking setback 86-83 OT loss last season (Dec. 2, 2023). In that OT thriller in Eugene -- and with the game tied (83-83) -- the Ducks' Jackson Shelstad sank a deep three-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to claim the victory.
• Four of the seven series games have been at neutral sites: the 1971 Far West Classic (W, 93-85), the 2024 NIT semifinal (W, 78-53), the 2014 Legends Classic (W, 70-63) and the 2017 NCAA Sweet 16 (L, 69-68).
• With 16 points and 14 rebounds at Rutgers, Danny Wolf posted his ninth double-double. He now shares the Big Ten lead with Northwestern's Brooks Barnhizer and Maryland's Julian Reese.
• After Vladislav Goldin battled illness against U-M's rally win over Penn State, Will Tschetter braved his illness at Rutgers, playing a key 10 minutes in the road win. He hit a key three-pointer and nabbed two rebounds. U-M's sixth man has played in all 21 games this season.
• Surpassing 1,500 career points at Rutgers (1,509 points), Goldin is 10 rebounds away from reaching 800 for his five-year career. With 14 rebounds at Rutgers, Wolf surpassed 200 (209) on the season and made it back-to-back seasons with 200-plus. He had 310 (9.7 rpg) last season at Yale.
• Goldin (33) and Wolf (33) now share the lead for blocks. "Area 50-1" as 66 of 91 blocks for the Wolverines.
• Tre Donaldson is eight (8) assists away from 250 career assists. Rubin Jones is 28 points away from the 1,000-point plateau.
• With two steals at Rutgers, Roddy Gayle Jr. posted his third straight season with 20-plus steals (21). He had 48 (21 and 27) during his two seasons at Ohio State.
• Sam Walters is 5-for-8 from long range over his last three games.
• Justin Pippen had a career-best four assists at Rutgers.
