
Nine Wolverines Set for NCAA Zone C Diving Championships in Columbus

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Nine divers from the University of Michigan swimming and diving team will travel to Columbus, Ohio, for the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships to earn the right to compete at the NCAA Championships. The three-day meet will run Monday-Wednesday (March 10-12) at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Notes
• Monday will feature the men's one-meter and women's three-meter dives starting at 11 a.m. The women will transition to the one-meter springboard while the men compete on the three-meter board on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Platform dive will close out the meet on Wednesday starting at 11 a.m.
• The men will battle for 10 qualification spots in the one-meter dive while the women will compete for six berths. In the three-meter dive, eight spots are available for the men and 10 for the women. On platform, the men will vy for 10 NCAA berths, and the women will have 11 spots available. Â
• Five Michigan men will head to Columbus, led by senior Cameron Gammage. At the Big Ten championships, Gammage logged a new career best on the platform dive with a six-dive score of 315.35. Gammage ranks eighth in the conference in both the one-meter and three-meter dives.
• Freshman Julian Cardenas is set to make his debut at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships. Cardenas owns the ninth-best one-meter dive score in the Big Ten at 384.55.
• Rounding out the men's team is Grayson Davis, Logan Hepner and Kameron Liberman. Davis and Hepner will look to build on their performances at the Big Ten Championships. Liberman will make his return after missing time due to injury.
• Kiarra Milligan will lead the way for the women's team. The junior qualified for consolation finals in two events at the Big Ten Championships and ranks inside the top six in the one-meter and three-meter dives. Â
• Chrismon Clark, Evie Johnson and Alex Mercier will also head to Columbus. Clark posted a new personal best on the one-meter board against Miami (Ohio) on Feb. 1 with a score of 307.45. Johnson earned her way with qualifying scores in the one and three-meter dives. Mercier will compete at the Zone Diving Championships for the second time in her career.
