Notes
• The Wolverines enter the contest on a six-game win streak after taking the series finale against No. 15-ranked Oregon, two-midweek wins over Akron and Oakland, and a weekend sweep over Mount St. Mary's. U-M run-ruled the Mountaineers twice over the weekend and won a pitchers' duel in the second game of the series. On Sunday, 10 different Wolverines scored runs in a combined shutout. Â
• Tate Carey led the Wolverines to two wins over the past week, throwing a seven-inning no-hitter against Akron on Tuesday (April 8) and pitching five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts on Sunday (April 13). Combined, Carey allowed just six base runners over 12 innings and held opponents to a 0.081 batting average. On the season, Carey is 6-0, ranking third in the conference and 16th in the nation.
• Greg Pace Jr. led U-M over the past week with a .615 batting average and a .706 on-base percentage. He tallied five runs and five RBIs on eight hits in 13 at-bats. Pace added two stolen bases and was perfect in centerfield defense. He is up to a .304 batting average this season, fourth among qualified hitters, with 14 runs scored and 10 RBIs.
• Benny Casillas holds a team-leading .416 batting average, ranking second in the Big Ten, and overtook Mitch Voit for the team lead in hits. Casillas tallied 10 hits over the past five games with 10 RBIs and five runs. He is currently on a 21-game on-base streak and a 16-game hitting streak.Â
• Tyler Inge recorded three starts over the past five games and went 5-for-9 with six runs, including the final run in the walk-off run-rule win on Sunday. He drew four walks and stole the first base of his collegiate career over the past five games. Inge has seen action at third base and shortstop this season. Â
• Jeter Ybarra led U-M in slugging over the past week with a 1.000 slugging percentage with four extra-base hits. Ybarra homered twice over the past five games and has four in his last 12 games after none for his first 24 games as a Wolverine. He is up to a .279 average with 26 runs and 29 RBIs. Â
• Cole Caruso started all five games this week and is one of three players to appear in all 36 games. He tallied five hits, including a triple, and scored four runs. Caruso is hitting .305 -- which is more than sixty points better than last season. He has also more than doubled his home run total from 2024 with nine in 2025.
• Toledo is 13-21 on the season and is 3-1 over its last four games after a midweek win over Purdue Fort Wayne and a series win over Eastern Michigan. The two teams faced off earlier in the season with Michigan winning, 6-4, with home runs from AJ Rausch and Mitch Voit. All-time, U-M is 43-14-1 against the Rockets and have won 9 of the last 10 games.
