
Michigan to Head West for Three-Game Series at Oregon

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team (16-12, 7-5 Big Ten) heads on the road for a three-game series against Oregon (20-7, 8-4 Big Ten) at PK Park. The series will begin on Friday (April 4) at 5 p.m. PT, continue on Saturday (April 5) at 2 p.m. PT, and wrap up on Sunday at noon PT. All three games will stream live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan is 16-12 on the season and is coming off a series win over Penn State and a run-rule victory over Eastern Michigan. The Wolverines are 7-5 in Big Ten play, good for fourth in the conference, with series wins over Illinois, Purdue, and Penn State.
• Benny Casillas leads the team with a .419 batting average, more than 100 points higher than his .295 mark last season at LMU. He has reached base in all 26 starts with hits in 22 games. Casillas has scored 25 runs and driven in 17. He went 5-for-10 against Penn State and followed up with a three-hit, four-RBI performance against Eastern Michigan. His average ranks second in the Big Ten.
• Cole Caruso is slugging .758 over the last 10 games with three doubles and four home runs. He now leads U-M with eight homers on the season, matching his total from all of last year. Caruso is batting .282 with eight doubles, 21 runs and 26 RBIs. A four-year starter, he has played in 186 games with 193 career hits.
• Mitch Voit is slashing .400/.515/.743 with team highs in runs (30), RBIs (34) and stolen bases (10). He was named Big Ten Player of the Week following the USC series. Voit hit his first home run since March 21 against Purdue and is tied for the Big Ten lead in doubles. With 28 career homers, he is two shy of entering the top 10 in program history.
• Brayden Jefferis has started the last three games and appeared in six of the last 10. The freshman went 5-for-10 with three runs and two RBIs against Penn State and made his debut in center field. Jefferis is hitting .300 with nine hits in 26 at-bats and is one of just two true freshman batters to see action this season.
• Will Rogers is contributing on both sides of the ball, batting .279 and holding a 3.54 ERA in 28.0 innings. His five saves rank second in the Big Ten and tied for 22nd nationally. Rogers set a Michigan senior-season saves record, surpassing Jacob Denner's mark from last year. Against Penn State, he went 2-for-4 with a run and threw five innings of one-run relief with five strikeouts to earn the win.
• David Lally Jr. holds a 3.72 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 36.1 innings. He struck out 28 batters and tossed a seven-inning complete game against Purdue. Lally struggled in his last start, giving up five runs in five innings against Penn State.
• Dylan Vigue owns a 4.71 ERA and has struck out 29 in 36.1 innings across seven starts. He's the only Wolverine to start every weekend series and delivered his best outing with six shutout innings vs. USC. In his last two starts, he's allowed seven earned runs while striking out eight.
• Kurt Barr has been dominant over his last two outings, striking out 17 in 12 innings and giving up five earned runs. He leads U-M with 39 strikeouts in 30.2 innings and holds a 4.11 ERA and 3-2 record. He has made eight appearances, six of them starts.
• Oregon enters the weekend 20-7 overall and ranked 15th by D1Baseball. The Ducks are third in the Big Ten with an 8-4 record, earning series wins over USC, Minnesota, and Rutgers before dropping a set to Ohio State. Michigan and Oregon have met just once before, with U-M winning 8-6 in the 2022 Louisville Regional.
