
U-M to Head to Columbus for Battle With No. 16 Ohio State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan Men's swimming and diving team (5-1, 2-1 Big Ten) will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to face off against 16th-ranked Ohio State (1-1, 0-0 Big Ten) on Saturday (Jan. 17) at noon. The meet will take place at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan continues the 2026 portion of its schedule after its first official loss to third-ranked Indiana (187-113) last Friday (Jan. 9). Despite the hiccup, the Wolverines have enjoyed a successful first half of their 2025-26 campaign.
• Luka Mladenovic continued to shine on against the Hoosiers, winning both breaststroke events and adding a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley. He checks in with the best time in the conference in the 100-yard breaststroke and third in the 200 breast.
• The Maize and Blue picked up the top two spots in the 200-yard butterfly on Friday, as Colin Geer touched the wall at 1:43.37, with Lorne Wigginton right on his heels with a 1:43.54.
• Tyler Ray had a successful individual outing, winning the 100 fly, placing second in the 50-yard freestyle, and contributing to a meet-opening victory in the 200-yard medley relay alongside Jack Wilkening, Mladenovic, and Ole Eidam.
• Wilkening set a new season-best time in the 200-yard backstroke in Friday's loss with a time of 1:46.13.
• Michigan holds top-three Big Ten times in each of the relays it has participated in this season, coming in at third in the 200 free and medley relays, and holding the second-best time in the 400-yard freestyle and medley.
• U-M will match up against the Buckeyes for the 91st time in program history, dating back to 1933, with the Maize and Blue dominating the all-time series 74-14-2.
