
Michigan to Take to Road for First Conference Crossover

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan water polo team (7-6, 0-0 CWPA) travels to Lewisburg, Pa., to compete in its first Conference Crossover of the season at Kinney Natatorium. The Wolverines will start the weekend by competing against No. 20 Brown (8-3, 0-0 CWPA) on Saturday (Feb. 21) at 1 p.m. They will continue on Sunday (Feb. 22), playing against No.7 Harvard (9-0, 0-0 CWPA) at 9 a.m. and Bucknell (7-2, 1-0 CWPA) at 1:30 p.m. All three of U-M's matches will be streamed live on YouTube.
Notes
• The Wolverines travel to Bucknell following a 4-0 weekend as the co-host of the Midwest Invitational at Canham Natatorium. U-M will be competing in its first conference matchups of the season.
• Freshman Bailee Swindells led the Maize and Blue with 14 goals at the Midwest Invite. Her performance moves her up to No. 2 on the team, trailing only Ari Karampetsou (28).
• Sophia Bunnell started in net in all four games and totaled 30 saves throughout the weekend. She earned a 3-0 record for the weekend, with Tyler Jackson being credited for the fourth win.
• Swindells and Bunnell earned Collegiate Water Polo Association weekly honors for their performances at the Midwest Invitational. Swindells was named Rookie of the Week, while Bunnell earned the Defensive Player of the Week nod.
• U-M will meet Brown to begin the Conference Crossover on Saturday (Feb. 21) at 1 p.m. in Kinney Natatorium. The Wolverines have not lost to Brown since March 2012.
