
Michigan to Travel to Xavier for Midweek Match

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team (1-4) will hit the road for the first time this season, heading to Ohio to face Xavier (2-4) on Tuesday morning (Feb. 24) at the Lindner Family Tennis Center at 10 a.m. The match was added to the schedule after Michigan's match at Oklahoma State (Feb. 21) was canceled.
Notes
• Michigan will play its first road match of the season Tuesday, facing Xavier for the first time in program history.
• Xavier participated in the 2026 Michigan Invitational earlier this season at the Varsity Tennis Center alongside U-M, Ohio State and Old Dominion.
• Lily Jones became the first Wolverine to reach the 20-win mark in singles this year after recording a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 in Michigan's victory over Penn (Jan. 24). She is 21-6 on the season, reaching 20 wins for the fourth straight year. Jones picked up the 100th win of her career during the NCAA Singles Championship and is now 10th all-time at Michigan with 105 singles wins.
• Michigan has five ranked singles players in Piper Charney (No. 12), Jones (No. 20), Reese Miller (No. 83), Jessica Bernales (No. 85) and Emily Sartz-Lunde (No. 104). Charney and Jones each earned ITA All-America honors in singles this past fall by reaching the round of 16 in the NCAA Singles Championship.
• Michigan is 1-0 this season when winning the doubles point. U-M has a pair of ranked doubles teams in No. 34 Jones/Bernales and No. 68 Charney/Sartz-Lunde.
• Ronni Bernstein is in her 19th season as head coach, holding a 552-201 overall coaching record. She is 387-108 as the Michigan head coach, leading the Wolverines to 12 Big Ten championships and six Big Ten Tournament titles.
• Michigan returns home next weekend, hosting Duke on March 1 at the Varsity Tennis Center before starting Big Ten play.
