Wolverines to Host No. 2 Texas at Belleville Lake

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 19-ranked University of Michigan rowing team will host its first home event since 2024 against No. 2-ranked Texas on Saturday (April 11). The Wolverines will race six of their seven championship boats at the regatta held at Belleville Lake.

Notes

• U-M enters this week at No. 19 in the CRCA Poll and is one of five Big Ten programs ranked within the top 25 overall (No. 5 Washington, No. 11 Rutgers, No. 16 Ohio State and No. 24 Indiana).

• This weekend is the first of two home events for the Wolverines this season. After hosting the Longhorns on Saturday, U-M will welcome Syracuse and Princeton for Senior Day on April 25 to close out the team's regular season.

• The following boats are expected to race once each Saturday: 1V8, 2V8, 1V4, 2V4, 3V8, 4V8. Races are set to begin at 8:45 a.m.

• Saturday's races will be Michigan's first at home since 2024, when it hosted Michigan State and Texas on back-to-back weekends in early April.

• This weekend marks the Wolverines' sixth straight year competing against Texas in a regular-season matchup. They look for their first 1V8, 2V8, or 1V4 victory against the Longhorns in those years.

• Fours were a team strength at the Buckeye Spring Regatta, winning five of six races by an average margin of 11.6 seconds. U-M fours took victories over No. 13 Alabama, No. 21 Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

• Two weekends ago at the Buckeye Spring Regatta, 22 Wolverines made their collegiate debuts, including Lucy Hallett, Danelia Price-Hughes, Novella Rusman (1V8); Olivia Carroll, Jade Postma (2V8); Zoey Jacobs (2V4); Avery Rodeheffer, Sophia Smith (3V4); Ella Damratoski, Stella Fox, Megan Gornick, Ruby Jansen, Maddy Stagg, Sydney Swick, Reagan Weneck, Zulema Zunzunegui (3V8); Gabrielle Cahill, Elodie Derse, Jane Kurkowski, Katie Schwab, Sophia Stylianos and Mo Winstanley (4V8).
